3.5U s e r G u i d eS E T T I N G R E S O L U T I O N A N D C O N T R A S T3Setting Resolution and ContrastWhen sending typical text baseddocuments,the default resolution andcontrast settings produce good results.However, if you send documents that areof poor quality, or contain photographs,you can adjust the resolution andcontrast to ensure a higher quality.ResolutionPress Quality to increase sharpnessand clarity. The document typesrecommended for quality settings aredescribed in the table on this page.Note: Best Resolution mode is not availableif the Send From Memory feature is set toON. If Send From Memory is set to ON, alldocuments will be stored to memory inNormal mode.If the XK50cx is set to Best Resolution modeand the remote fax machine does notsupport Best Resolution, the XK50cx willtransmit using the highest resolution modesupported by the remote fax machine.M o d e R e c o m m e n d e d f o r :Draft Documents with normalsized characters.Normal Documents containingsmall characters or thinlines, or for sendingdocuments printed usinga dot-matrix printer.Best Documents containingextremely fine detail.Photo mode scanning andBest modes are enabledonly if the remotemachine also supportsBest resolution.
