Manual VIPA System 200V Chapter 3 Deployment CPU 21x-2BS03HB97E - CPU - RE_21x-2BS03 - Rev. 15/16 3-13Project transferThere are the following possibilities for project transfer into the CPU:• Transfer via MPI• Transfer via MMC when using a MMC programmerThe structure of a MPI net is electrically identical with the structure of aPROFIBUS net. This means the same rules are valid and you use thesame components for the build-up. The single participants are connectedwith each other via bus interface plugs and PROFIBUS cables. Per defaultthe MPI net runs with 187.5kbaud. VIPA CPUs are delivered with MPIaddress 2.The MPI programming cables are available at VIPA in different variants. The cables provide a RS232 res. USB plug for the PC and a bus enabledRS485 plug for the CPU.Due to the RS485 connection you may plug the MPI programming cablesdirectly to an already plugged plug on the RS485 jack. Every busparticipant identifies itself at the bus with an unique address, in the courseof the address 0 is reserved for programming devices.A cable has to be terminated with its surge impedance. For this you switchon the terminating resistor at the first and the last participant of a network ora segment. Please make sure that the participants with the activated terminatingresistors are always power supplied. Otherwise it may cause interferenceson the bus.Transfer with MPI programming cable (MPI communication)MPIUSB -MPI Ad apterPowerActiveErrorVIPA 950 -0 KB31USBVIPAMPI programming cableSTEP7from SiemensMPI netTerminating TerminatingTransfer via Green Cable (serial communication)Via exclusively direct plugging of the Green Cable to a MP2I jack you mayestablish a serial connection between PC and CPU. Set the PC-COM portand the transfer rate 38400Baud at Local port.
