METER ButtonPress this button to change the meter function inthe transmit mode as follows.PO  ALC  SWR  POPO: Indicates the average power output level.ALC: Indicates the relative ALC voltage.SWR: I n d i c a t e s t h e S t a n d i n g Wa v e R a t i o(Forward/Reflected).2. Filter ButtonPress this button to change the filter.3. FAST ButtonPressing this button will increase or decrease thetuning rate of the [MAIN DIAL] knob.4. MIC JackThis 8-pin jack accepts input from a suppliedHand Microphone.5. PHONE JackA 3.5 mm, 3-contact jackaccepts either monaural orstereo headphones with 2or 3-contact plugs. Whena p l u g i s i n s e r t e d , t h eloudspeaker is disabled.N ote:When wearing headphones,we recommend that you turn the AF GAIN levelsdown to their lowest settings before turningpower on, to minimize the impact on your hearingcaused by audio “pops” during switch-on.6. KEYER ButtonThis button toggles the internal CW keyer on andoff.7. KEY JackThis 3.5 mm, 3-contact jack accepts a CW key orkeyer paddles (for the built-in electronic keyer),or output from an external electronic keyer.Pinout is shown below. Key up is 5 volts, and keydown current is 0.5 mA.Do not use the plug except the 3.5-mm 3-pintype plug. If the plug in correct size is not usedthe radio may be harmed or damaged.If the Keyer plug is removed from the jack whilethe FT-410 is in operation, the FT-410 may beswitched to the transmit mode.Tu r n o f f t h e p o w e r o f t h e F T- 4 1 0 b e f o r econnecting or disconnecting the Keyer.8. AGC ButtonThis button selects the AGC characteristics forthe receiver.9. Power / LOCK ButtonPress and hold in this button for one second toturn the transceiver on or off. Press this buttonthe locking of the [MAIN DIAL] knob and someswitches, to prevent accidental frequencychanges.10. MENU ButtonPress this button, the Menu Item and a title forthe Menu Mode will appear in the display.
