Page 62 FT-450D OPERATION MANUALMEMORY OPERATIONLabeling MemoriesYou may wish to append an Alphanumeric “Tag” (label) to a memory or memories, to aid in recollection of thechannel’s use (such as a club name, etc.). This is easily accomplished using the Menu mode.REGULAR MEMORY O PERATION1. Recall the memory channel that you wish to ap-pend a label.2. Press and hold the [F] button for one second toenter the Menu mode again. The “ ” iconwill appear on the display.3. Rotate the [DSP/SEL] knob to select the menuitem “MEM TAG”.4. Press the [DSP/SEL] knob to enable adjustmentof this menu item. The “ ” icon will blink,and “MEM TAG” will be replaced with “TAG-OFF”5. Press the [F] button to display the previously storedlabel (in the factory default, all memory channelsare stored with the memory channel number asthe label).6. Rotate the [MAIN DIAL] knob to select the firstdigit of the desired label.7. Rotate the [DSP/SEL] knob one step clockwiseto move to the next character.8. Repeat steps 6 and 7 to program the remainingletters, numbers, or symbols of the desired label.Seven characters may be used in the creation ofa label.9. If you make a mistake, rotate the [DSP/SEL] knobcounter-clockwise to move back the cursor, thenre-enter the correct letter, number, or symbol.You may press the [CLAR] button to clear the cur-rent digit label.10.When you have completed the creation of the la-bel, press the [DSP/SEL] knob. The “ ” iconreturns to appear continuously.11. Press and hold the [F] button for one second tosave the new setting and return to normal opera-tion.In Memory mode operation, the display indicates thechannel numbers while selecting the memory chan-nels, then the display will switch to the Alphanumeric“Tag” (label) after two seconds.[DSP/SEL] Knob[V/M/MW] button[F] button[MAIN DIAL] Knob[CLAR] button
