22Customizing Menu Settings and User Preferences (Set Mode)From the Setup menu, the various functions of the transceiver may be customized ac-cording to the user’s personal preferences. Setting or inputting in each Set Mode itemallows more easy to use.Setting the Set Mode1. Press and hold the Function key.The previously selected Set Mode item is displayed.2. Press the [▲] or [▼] key to select to the desired SetMode item.3. Press the Function key, then press the [▲] or [▼] key tochange the setting.4. Press the PTT switch to save the new setting and returnto normal operation.• On some setting screens, pressing the PTT switchdoes not exit from Set mode. In this case, press andhold the Function key to return to the upper menu inthe Set Mode, then press the PTT switch to return tonormal operation.z In step 4 above, press the Function key to save the new setting and return to Set Mode item instep 2. This is convenient for setting another Set Mode item.z On some setting screens, the key operation is different than described in the above steps (Forexample, inputting the characters, etc.). Refer to the “Tables of Set Mode Operations”.
