FTA-720 OperATing MAnuAl64Fly to a VOR station1. Select a VOR station on youraeronautical chart and turn theDIAL selector knob (or enterthe frequency directly with thekeypad) to the frequency of theVOR station.2. Select the “TO” flag when flyingto the VOR station or select the“FROM” flag when flying awayfrom the VOR station.3. Press key, then press keyto select CDI mode.The couse indicator shows “OFF”when the VOR signal can notreceived.4. Press key to change the“FROM”/“TO” icon size and The“COURSE INDICATOR” displaysize.Field Programming Mode1. Press and hold in both the PTTswitch and key, while turningthe radio on.2. Select the desired frequency tobe stored in the Book Memory.3. Press and hold in the key for2 seconds.4. Rotate the DIAL selector knobto select the desired memorychannel number for storage.5. Press and hold in the key for3 seconds.To attach an alpha/numeric name(label) to the memory, proceedto the next step; otherwise pressand hold in the key for 2seconds to save the entry andexit.6. To label a memory with an alpha/numeric name, the next step isto use the DIAL selector knob toselect any of the 125 availablecharacters.Press the key repeatedly torecall the desired letter, number,and symbol in the first charactorslot (a à . à 0 à A à a ...).7. Press the key momentarily toselect it and move on to the nextcharacter.8. After entering the entire name(eight characters maximum),press the key for 2 seconds tosave all data for the channel.9. Turn the radio off, then turn theradio back on again to beginnormal operation.
