Checkweather forecasts before boating. Avoidboating in hazardous weather. Tell someone where you are going: leavea Float Plan with a responsible person. Besure to cancel the Float Plan when you re-turn. Use common sense and good judgmentwhen boating. Know your abilities, and besure you understand how your boat han-dles under the different boating conditionsyou may encounter. Operate within yourlimits, and the limits of your boat. Alwaysoperate at safe speeds, and keep a carefulwatch for obstacles and other traffic. Always watch carefully for swimmers dur-ing the engine operation. Stay away from swimming areas.
