Operation673. Set the tilt support lever to support theengine. WARNING! After tilting theoutboard motor, be sure to support itwith the tilt support knob or tilt sup-port lever. Otherwise the outboardmotor could fall back down suddenlyif oil in the power trim and tilt unit orin the power tilt unit loses pressure.[EWM00262] NOTICE: Do not use the tiltsupport lever or knob when traileringthe boat. The outboard motor couldshake loose from the tilt support andfall. If the motor cannot be trailered inthe normal running position, use anadditional support device to secure itin the tilt position. NOTICE: Make surethat the trim rods retracts completelyduring mooring. This protects therods from marine growth and corro-sion, which could damage the powertrim and tilt mechanism.
