If the unit is inthis condition, the standby indicator on theunit blinks when you try to turn on thepower.As a safety precaution, capability to turn on the poweris disabled. Contact your nearest Yamaha dealer orservice center to request repair. —The power cable is not connected or theplug is not completely inserted.Connect the power cable firmly. —The protection circuitry has been activatedbecause of a short circuit, etc.Check that the speaker wires are not touching eachother and then turn the power of this unit back on. 10This unit has been exposed to a strongexternal electric shock (such as lightningor strong static electricity).Set this unit to standby mode, disconnect the powercable, plug it back in after 30 seconds, then use itnormally.—The power does notturn off.The internal microcomputer has frozen,due to an external electric shock (such aslightning or excessive static electricity) orto a drop in the power supply voltage.Hold down A (power) on the front panel for morethan 15 seconds to initialize and reboot the unit. (Ifthe problem persists, disconnect the power cable fromthe AC wall outlet and plug it again.)—No sound Incorrect input or output cableconnections.Connect the cables properly. If the problem persists,the cables may be defective. 10No appropriate input source has beenselected.Select an appropriate input source with the INPUTselector on the front panel (or one of the inputselection key on the remote control).15The SPEAKERS A/B switches are not setproperly.Turn on the corresponding SPEAKERS A orSPEAKERS B. 15Speaker connections are not secure. Secure the connections. 10Output has been muted. Turn off the mute. 8The Max volume or Initial volume settingis set too low.Set the setting to a higher value. 34The component corresponding to theselected input source is turned off or is notplaying.Turn the component on and make sure it is playing.—The audio output of a device connected toa digital audio input (COAXIAL/OPTICAL jacks) is set to other than PCM.Set the audio output of the connected device to PCM.—The sound suddenlygoes off.The protection circuitry has been activatedbecause of a short circuit, etc.Set the speaker impedance to match your speakers. 11Check that the speaker wires are not touching eachother and then turn the power of this unit back on. 10This unit has become too hot. Make sure the openings on the top panel are notblocked. —The auto power standby function hasturned this unit off.Change the auto power standby (“AutoPowerStdby”in the “Option” menu) to a longer setting or turn off. 31Only the speaker onone side can beheard.Incorrect cable connections. Connect the cables properly. If the problem persists,the cables may be defective. 10Incorrect setting for the speaker balance.
