8-9ESU04830Adjusting the engine idling speedCAUTION:@ Be sure to have a Yamaha dealer make thisadjustment. Make sure that the throttle lever moves smoothly.@1. Remove the shroud, the left and right side covers,and the top cover. (See pages 8-5–8-7 for removalprocedures.)2. Start the engine and warm it up.3. Remove the headlight unit bolts 1, and then lift upthe headlight unit.4. Turn the idle adjusting screw 2 in or out to adjust theengine idling speed.5. Install the headlight unit, making sure to insert thetabs on the headlight unit stay into the slots on thebottom of the headlight unit.6. Install the headlight unit bolts, and then tighten themto the specified torque.7.
