BEFORE YOU OPERATEYM Series Operation Manual 3312/05MARINE GEAR OR SAILDRIVE OILMarine Gear Oil SpecificationsUse marine gear oil that meets or exceedsthe following guidelines and classifications:KM2P-1 (S), (G) or (GG):• API Service Categories: CD or higher• SAE Viscosity: #20 or #30Sail Drive Oil Specifications-SD20Refer to the Sail Drive Operation Manualfor the procedure to fill or replace the saildrive oil.SD20:• API Service Category: GL4.5• SAE Viscosity: 90 or 80W90Checking Marine Gear OilFigure 71 – Dipstick(Filler cap combined type)2 – Marine Gear Filler Port3 – Upper Limit4 – Lower Limit (Dipstick end)1. Make sure the engine is off. Make surethe engine is as level as possible andwipe area clean around the marinegear filler port (Figure 7, (2)).2. Remove the filler cap at the top of thehousing.3. Remove the dipstick (Figure 7, (1)) andwipe with a clean cloth.4. Re- insert the dipstick without screw in,please see illustration (Figure 7).5. Remove the dipstick. The oil levelshould be between the upper(Figure 7, (3)) and lower(Figure 7, (4)) lines on the dipstick.6. Screw in the dipstick.Adding Marine Gear Oil1. Make sure the engine is as level aspossible.2. Remove the filler cap at the top of thehousing.NOTICENever overfill the marine gear with oil.3. Fill with oil to the upper limit on thedipstick (Figure 7, (3)). See MarineGear Oil Specifications on page 29.4. Screw in the dipstick.5.
