TO FIT THE OVEN SHELVESThe shelves should be fitted with the straight rodsuppermost on the frame and the forms towards theback of the oven. If not fitted correctly the anti-tilt andsafety stop mechanism will be affected.HINTS AND TIPSl Arrange the shelves in the required positionsbefore switching the oven ON. Shelves arenumbered from the bottom upwards.l When cooking more than one dish in the fanoven, place dishes centrally on different shelvesrather than cluster several dishes on one shelf, this will allow the heat to circulate freely for thebest cooking results.l If it is unavoidable that several dishes are placedon the shelves, for your safety DO NOT withdrawthe shelf when removing food or dishes from theoven.l When batch baking one type of food e.g. Victoriasandwich cakes, those of similar size will becooked in the same time.l It is recommended that when baking largerquantities, the shelf positions should be evenlyspaced to suit the load being cooked. A slightincrease in cooking time may be necessary.l DO NOT place baking trays directly on the ovenfloor as it interferes with the oven air circulationand can lead to base burning; use the lower shelfposition. However, non-critical dishes/foods maybe placed on the base of the oven whenadditional space is required.l The use of excessively high temperatures cancause uneven browning. It may be necessary toreduce temperatures slightly. Refer to therecommendations given in the oven cookingchart on page 19.l DO NOT use the cranked shelf from the grill inthe oven.1818
