ALWAYS SWITCH OFF THE ELECTRICITYSUPPLY AT THE MAIN WALL SWITCH ANDALLOW THE COOKER TO COOL BEFORECLEANINGCLEANING MATERIALSBefore using any cleaning materials on your cooker,check that they are suitable and that their use isrecommended by the manufacturer.Cleaners that contain bleach should NOT be used asthey may dull the surface finishes. Harsh abrasivesshould also be avoided.CLEANING THE SEALED HOTPLATESAND HOTPLATE TRIMSIn order to maintain the appearance of your cooker'ssealed hotplates and trims you are advised to usethe recommended cleaning agents daily. If you donot allow spillages to burn on they will be mucheasier to clean off.FOR NORMAL SOILAGEWipe over the hotplates and trims using a cleandamp cloth, if necessary use a little washing upliquid, then switch to a low or medium setting for afew minutes to thoroughly dry.FOR HEAVY SOILAGERemove heavily burnt in soilage with a patent razorin a holder with care. DO NOT use the edge of thescraper or a knife. Then soak the soiled area with hotwater to which a little washing up liquid has beenadded. Further clean as below.Use a clean damp cloth or scourer with a creamcleaner e.g. 'Jif' or a powder cleaner e.g. 'Ajax' onthe hotplate and trims. Rinse off cleaning agentsthoroughly. Dry as for normal soilage.For more stubborn marks warm the hotplate on a lowsetting for approx. 6 - 8 mins. Clean the sealed platewith 'Ajax' powder cleaner, 'Jif' cream cleaner or a'Brillo' pad. You may have to rub hard for severalminutes.Rinse off cleaning agents thoroughly with a dampcloth. Switch to a low or medium setting for a fewminutes until the hotplate is thoroughly dry.CLEANING THE HOTPLATE TRIMSThe stainless steel trims may become straw colouredduring use. Using a proprietary stainless steelcleaner , e.g. 'Shiny Sinks' will help maintain a brightappearance. Alternatively a powder cleaner such as'Bar Keepers Friend' may be used regularly.CLEANING THE VITREOUS ENAMELUse a clean damp cloth or scourer made for non-stick saucepans with 'Jif' cream cleaner.DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REMOVE ANY OF THECONTROL KNOBS FROM THE PANEL AS THISMAY CAUSE DAMAGE AND IS A SAFETYHAZARD.CLEANING THE GRILL DEFLECTOR,GRILL PAN, GRILL PAN GRID AND OVENSHELVESAll removable parts, except the grill pan handle canbe washed in the dishwasher.The grill pan and grill deflector may be cleaned usinga soap impregnated steel wool pad. The grill pan gridand oven shelves should be cleaned using hot soapywater. Soaking first in soapy water will make cleaningeasier.2222CLEANING THE OUTSIDE OF THECOOKERDO NOT use abrasive cleaning materials or scourerson the outside of the cooker as some of the finishesare painted and damage may occur.
