14Before any maintenance or cleaning can be carriedout, you must DISCONNECT the appliance fromthe electricity supply.This appliance cannot be cleaned with steam orwith a steam cleaning machine.The Hob TopThe hob is best cleaned whilst it is still warm, as spillagecan be removed more easily than if it is left to cool.Regularly wipe over the hob top using a soft cloth wellwrung out in warm water to which a little wasing up liquidhas been added. Avoid the use of the following:- household detergent and bleaches;- impregnated pads unsuitable for non-stick saucepans;- steel wool pads;- bath/sink stain removers.Should the hob top become heavily soiled, it isrecommended that a cleaning product such as Hob Briteor Bar Keepers Friend is used.Pan SupportsThe pan supports are dishwasher proof. If washing themby hand, take care when drying them as the enamellingprocess occasionally leaves rough edges. If necessay,remove stubborn stains using a paste cleaner.The BurnersThe burner caps and crowns can be removed for cleaning.Wash the burner caps and crowns using hot soapywater, and remove marks with a mild paste cleaner. Awell moistened soap impregnated steel wool pad canbe used with caution, if the marks are particularly difficultto remove.After cleaning, be sure to wipe dry with a soft cloth.Ignition electrodeThe electric ignition is obtained through a ceramic"electrode" and a metal electrode.
