Operation OPMI Lumera iVersion 8.0Page 96 G-30-1720-en• Check the fundus imaging system (if provided) When using a fundus imaging system (e.g., BIOM 3 from Oculus) which isusually installed between the surgical microscope and the patient, makesure that the patient is neither put at risk nor injured by the motorizedfocusing system or the movement of the suspension system arm. Only use accessories expressly certified by the manufacturer for combinationwith the surgical microscope described in this manual.CAUTION Injury to the patient’s eye due to incorrect operation of the fundusviewing systemIncorrect operation of the fundus imaging system may cause injury to thepatient’s eye and impair image quality. Perform the following steps to avoidthis hazard:• Perform a focus reset.• With the fundus viewing system swung out of the beam path, alwaysposition the microscope body in such a way that index dot (1) of themicroscope’s focus is in the middle of the upper triangle (2) of the marking.• Select a medium magnification (e.g., 1.0).• Lower the surgical microscope to the surgical field until the cornea of thepatient’s eye is in focus.• Turn the locking lever for limiting downward travel clockwise as far as itwill go; without any patients, check that the suspension arm cannot belowered any further.• It is vital that you read the Instructions for Use for the fundus imagingsystem used (e.g., BIOM 3 from Oculus).1 2
