C-4 APPENDIX C: INSTALLING I/O CARDSInstallationOverviewAll of the I/O cards are installed in either Slot 1 or Slot 2, below themain processor board. The installation procedures for all cards isbasically the same and involves these steps:n Removing the card from its protective bagn Removing the filler panel over the desired card slotn Inserting the card into the slot so it connects with the backplanen Fastening the card to the backplanen Connecting the I/O card connections to the network or modem(s)InstallationProcedureTo install an I/O card:1 Remove the card from its antistatic bag.Do not touch pins, leads, or solder connections on the card. Handle thecard by the edges only.2 Inspect the card for shipping damage.If you find any damage, contact the shipping company to file a report.If the I/O card must be returned to the factory, ship it in the originalshipping carton and antistatic bag.
