3 WINDOWS 95/98 ANDWINDOWS NTDRIVER INSTALLATIONThis chapter describes how to install the NIC driver andsoftware on a PC running Windows 95, Windows 98,Windows NT 4.0, or Windows NT 3.51.To obtain the latest shipping version of a driver, contactyour PC manufacturer.OverviewYou install the NIC driver and software using theEtherDisk diskettes after you have run the preinstallationprogram and installed the NIC in your PC, as describedin Chapter 2.The NIC driver can be used in both Microsoft and NetWarenetwork environments.Do not use the 3Com Intelligent Auto Install software toinstall the NIC driver under Windows 95, Windows 98,or Windows NT. The Intelligent Auto Install softwareis for Windows 3.x and DOS clients connecting to aNetWare server.
