Protecting the drive against ground faultsThe drive is equipped with an internal ground fault protective function to protect the unitagainst ground faults in the motor and motor cable. This function is not a personnel safetyor a fire protection feature. See the firmware manual for more information.■ Residual current device compatibilityThe drive is suitable to be used with residual current devices of Type B.Note:As standard, the drive contains capacitors connected between the main circuit and theframe. These capacitors and long motor cables increase the ground leakage current andmay cause nuisance faults in residual current devices.Implementing the emergency stop functionThe drive can be equipped with emergency stop function of stop category 0. For safetyreasons, install the emergency stop devices at each operator control station and at otheroperating stations where emergency stop can be needed.Note:Pressing the stop key on the control panel of the drive, or turning the operating switch ofthe drive from position "1" to "0" does not generate an emergency stop of the motor orseparate the drive from dangerous potential.See the user’s manual for the wiring, start-up and operation instructions.Manual code (English)User’s manualOptioncode3AXD50000171828Emergency stop, stop category 0 (option +Q951) for ACS580-07,ACH580-07 and ACQ580-07 drives user's manual+Q9513AXD50000171835Emergency Stop, Category 0 (option +Q963) without opening maincontactor with safety relay for ACS580-07, ACH580-07 and ACQ580-07 drives user's manual+Q963Implementing ATEX-certified thermistor protectionSee CPTC-02 ATEX-certified thermistor protection module, Ex II (2) GD (+L537+Q971)user's manual (3AXD50000030058 [English]).Implementing the Safe torque off functionSee chapter The Safe torque off function (page 243).Implementing the ATEX-certified Safe motor disconnectionfunction (option +Q971)With option +Q971, the drive provides ATEX-certified safe motor disconnection withoutcontactor using the drive Safe torque off function.
