For continued compliance with the above standards,only approved Class 1 laser modules from an ADTRAN approved vendor list located onthe ADTRAN website should be installed in this product. ADTRAN cannot certify systemintegrity with other laser modules.■ The optical installation is intended to be installed by trained service personnel only.CAUTION!f ■ This equipment must be connected to a known, reliable earth ground at all times duringinstallation and service. Refer to the National Electrical Code (NEC) and state/local codesfor details on grounding requirements. A 12 AWG copper ground conductor shall be usedto connect the equipment to earth ground.■ The GPON 452/454 does not have an internal DC Connection between 12V and frameground.■ The chassis frame ground terminal must be connected to an earth ground to ensure thatthe front panel of the this product is properly grounded.NOTEg ■ Power supply input and output conductors of equipment which are outside of the building,are intended to be less that 100 feet (30.4 meters) and have adequate clearance frompower and lightning conductors in accordance with NEC 725 and 800. Final acceptanceof the Listed equipment installation will ultimately be up to the local Authority HavingJurisdiction (AHJ).■ The GPON 452/454 is designed to operate with a nominal operating voltage of 12 VDC.■ The main feed is optical and therefore not classified as any type of port as defined inAppendix B of GR-1089-CORE Issue 5.The GPON 452/454 meets EU RoHS Directive.
