Using a restriction list you can restrict TCP/IP printingfrom other IP addresses than those specified in the list. The TCP/IP stackwill then not accept data over LDP, Reverse Telnet and PROS. FTP and IPPare also closed for printing although it is possible to connect directly tothe port.Enabling TCP/IPRestrictionsIn the print server’s Web interface, select Admin | Network Settings |Detailed View | TCP/IP Printing.Print jobs from IP addresses specified in the TCP printing restriction listwill be permitted, all other print jobs will be rejected. Comma delimited IPaddresses as well as ranges of IP addresses can be entered as described inthe table below.lExamples: •192.168.0.10 will permit print jobs from IP address 192.168.0.10•192.168.0.12,192.168.0.32 will permit print jobs from IP addresses 192.168.0.12 and192.168.0.32•192.168.0.40-192.168.0.79 will permit print jobs from IP addresses within the range192.168.0.40 — 192.168.0.79•192.168.0.* (wildcard) will permit print jobs from IP addresses within the range192.168.0.0 — 192.168.0.255• Using ! as the first character means that the value is a reject value:!192.168.0.10 will reject print jobs from IP address 192.168.0.10Disabling TCP/IPRestrictionsEmpty the TCP printing restriction list to remove the restrictions on nonspecified printers.
