Thesteps described on the following pages are:1. Prepare your system for a new TCP/IP node.Procedures: Find an unused Internet (IP) address and choose a uniquehost name for your NPS 650. Update your host table and alias namedata bases.2. Set up the NPS 650 as a TCP/IP node.Procedures: Down-load the IP address to your NPS 650 using the arp,rarp or bootp metod.3. Set up and attach a print queue at your Unix workstation.Procedures: Use the automatic axinstall script to complete the setup.Up-load and run the script, then follow the instructions on yourscreen.Before you begin: • Make sure that the NPS 650 is powered on and attached to the net-work.• You will need root privileges on the system.• Have the serial number found on the back of the NPS 650 availa-ble.• Any network configuration should always involve the networkmanager.
