Section 7: Advanced OptionsAxis NPS 650 User’s Manual 59PostScript FunctionsThe NPS 650 can translate standard ASCII print data into PostScript for-mat. This makes it possible to print with a PostScript printer from a hostthat doesn’t support PostScript. The PostScript functions are controlledby a number of parameters described below.ASCII toPostScriptConversionThe conversion is selected by activating a filter that converts ASCII datainto PostScript. This filter may be activated individually for each logicalprinter.Example: The following entries in your config file will activate pass-through (no fil-ter) for PR1, ASCII to PostScript conversion for PR2. On PR3 theincoming data will be searched, ASCII data will be converted toPostScript, PostScript data will pass-through without conversion:Use this configuration when print jobs directed to PR1 are already inPostScript format, print jobs directed to PR2 are in ASCII format anddirect print jobs to PR3 when you are not sure if it is ASCII or PostScriptformat.PostScript PageSizeWhen the ASCII to PostScript filter is active, a page size must be speci-fied. The default page size is A4, and may be specified individually foreach logical printer. See the example on the next page on how to changethe page size. The page size setting is ignored when the ASCII to PostScript filter isinactive.PR1_FILT. : NONEPR2_FILT. : POSTSCRPR3_FILT. : AUTO_PS
