This allows for up to 510 8-bit ASCII characters per message. If themessage is longer than 510 characters only the first 510 characters are written, and the rest are discarded. The data iswritten in Big Endian format, with the first character of the message written to the upper byte, and the next character writtento the lower byte of the first register. If the message is shorter than the number of registers being written, the ABR writes a 0value to the extra bytes. The following table shows the contents of the registers if 255 registers are being written, and the output message is:[STX]123[ETX]Table 7: ABR Output Message Data (40001–40255)16: Preset Multiple RegistersRegister High Byte Contents (Bits 8-15) Low Byte Contents (Bits 0-7)40001 [STX] 140002 2 340003 [ETX] [Null]40004 [Null] [Null]40005 [Null] [Null]40006 [Null] [Null]... ... ...40255 [Null] [Null]8.3.2 Configure the ABR for Modbus/TCP in Barcode ManagerAfter selecting Modbus/TCP on the Reading Phase, Data Formatting, or Output Setup pages (seeIndustrial EthernetReading Phase Control on page 48), the Control panel shows the following Modbus/TCP-specific settings:ABR 3000 Series Barcode Reader68 www.bannerengineering.com - Tel: + 1 888 373 6767
