A2+/A4+/A6+/A8+Test functionsEdition 5/06 Configuration Instructions 43Tab. 19:Parameters of the Device list5.6 Printhead profileThe Printhead profile function prints a diagram representing the resistance values of the individualprint points in a curve. This printout is used to check the printhead status. If a printhead is defective, itsresistance value increases. Such a print point error is reflected in the print image by a light line in thedirection of paper flow. The printout occurs using the heat level and print speed specified in the Setup > Print param. menu.1. Insert printable medium (labels, endless paper) which extends across the entire printing width.2. If the printout is to occur using thermal transfer printing, insert transfer ribbon with the maximumwidth.3. Press the menu button.4. Select Test > Printhead profile menu.5. Start printout with the ↵ button. You can cancel the printout with the cancel button.Directly below the black bar labeled Printhead profile, the printout contains a scale which marks theactual geometric arrangement of print points. This makes assignment to the scale in the following dia-gram possible.Example:Figure 16 shows a printhead profile with a print image error in the black bar at approx. 22.5 mm. In thediagram, a print point with a clearly increased resistance value appears in the corresponding location. This proves that the image error can actually be traced back to a printhead defect.Name InformationCPU • Type and serial number of the CPU PCB• Revision of CPU PCB and FPGATPH Resolution and heating point number of the installed thermal printhead.I/F [x] Type of interfaces installedx: Number of interfaceUSB [a][b/c]SpeedType and revision of installed USB devicesa: number of USB deviceb: number of USB device to which device a is connectedc: number of interface of device b to which device a is connectedSpeed: data transfer speed (low, full, high)The following properties are only displayed when the service key is inserted:Mfr.: Manufacturer ID.
