Using Lucina221Vaginal BleedingNOTE: Vaginal bleeding can only be performed when the mannequin is laying down flat in a supineposition.Blood loss is continuously reported to the physiological models. The models respond to the reportedblood loss with the appropriate cardiovascular and respiratory system changes to heart rate, bloodpressure, and respiratory parameters. The vaginal bleeding reservoir holds up to 2 liters of fluid, allowing for simulation of the Class IIIpostpartum hemorrhage. The amount of vaginal bleeding can be set from the Vaginal Bleeding Severity menu: none, mild, moderate, severe and profuse.NOTE: When the blood pressure diminishes, the effective blood flow diminishes as well. If the patient’sphysiological condition cannot support the desired blood flow, a lower blood flow than requested willoccur.IMPORTANT: If any fluid gets under the skin during a vaginal bleed, follow these cleaning instructionsimmediately to prevent damage to the simulator:1. Ensure the abdomen is installed on the torso whenever the mannequin ispositioned upright.2. Elevate the torso.IV Fluid Administration IV fluids can be adminis-tered in the IV hands andarms bilaterally at thedorsal metacarpal, basilic, median ante-brachial, ante-cubitalfossa and median cubitallocations.Administered IV fluidsmust be set by theinstructor.VIEW: FluidsPARAMETER(S): ColloidInfusion, CrystalliodInfusion, PRBC Infu-sion, Whole Blood Infu-sionFluid administration canalso be achieved by usingthe Intervention palettes.Up to 300 mL of adminis-tered IV fluid are col-lected in reclaim bagslocated in the simulator’sarms. If additional fluidadministration is desired,an empty IV bag and tub-ing can be connected tothe IV Drain port locatedon the simulator’s leftside.FluidsAnatomy, Physiologyand Clinical Signs Description Software Control Manual Control
