Müse Parameter Descriptions278Respiratory – Basic ParametersBronchial Occlusion (Left and Right)Turning on the Bronchial Occlusion parameter completely obstructs the right or left bronchi, simulating a lower airway obstruction (e.g., mucus plug).Right and left bronchi can be occluded individually.Default: OffRespiratory RateThe Respiratory Rate parameter is used to set the respiratory rate to a given number of breaths perminute. Once set, arterial oxygen and carbon dioxide values have no effect on the resulting respiratoryrate, but continue to influence other components of the physiological models. The patient continues tobreathe at the set number of breaths per minute, regardless of the arterial oxygen or carbon dioxidelevels. For example, when the respiratory rate is set to 10 breaths per minute, the respiratory rate remains at 10breaths per minute, regardless of arterial oxygen or carbon dioxide levels. In such situations, the patientcan only respond to arterial oxygen or carbon dioxide levels when the Tidal Volume parameter isadjusted.Default: ModeledRange: 4 breaths per minute - 40 breaths per minuteRespiratory ParametersBronchial Occlusion(Left and Right)Respiratory RateRespiratory Rate FactorShunt FractionSpO2NMBTidal VolumeFraction of Inspired O2
