Shoulder Belt Height AdjusterYour vehicle has shoulder belt height adjusters forthe driver and right front passenger position.Adjust the height so that the shoulder portion of thebelt is centered on your shoulder. The belt shouldbe away from your face and neck, but not falling offyour shoulder. Incorrect positioning of the shoulder beltcan reduce the effectiveness of the safety belt.To move it down, pressthe release button (A)and move the heightadjuster to the desiredposition. You can movethe height adjuster upjust by pushing up onthe shoulder belt guide.After you move the height adjuster to where you want it,try to move it down without pressing the releasebutton to make sure it has locked into position.Safety Belt PretensionersYour vehicle has safety belt pretensioners for frontoutboard occupants. Although you cannot see them,they are part of the safety belt assembly. They can helptighten the safety belts during the early stages of amoderate to severe frontal and near frontal crash ifthe threshold conditions for pretensioner activation aremet. And, if your vehicle has side impact airbags,safety belt pretensioners can help tighten the safetybelts in a side crash.Pretensioners work only once. If they activate in acrash, you will need to get new ones, and probably othernew parts for your safety belt system.
