Some electrical equipment can damage yourvehicle and the damage would not be covered byyour warranty. Some add-on electrical equipment cankeep other components from working as they should.Add-on equipment can drain your vehicle’s battery, evenif your vehicle is not operating.Your vehicle has an airbag system. Before attempting toadd anything electrical to your vehicle, see ServicingYour Airbag-Equipped Vehicle on page 1-67.Headlamp WiringThe headlamp wiring system has four individual fuses.An electrical overload will cause the lamps to go onand off, or in some cases to remain off. If this happens,have the headlamp wiring checked right away.Windshield Wiper FusesThe windshield wiper motor is protected by an internalcircuit breaker. If the wiper motor overheats due toheavy snow, the wipers will stop until the motor coolsand will then restart.A fuse powers the wiper motor. If the fuse blows,there is an electrical problem. Be sure to have it fixed.5-96
