What Will You See After an AirbagInflates? After the frontal airbags inflate, they quickly deflate, soquickly that some people may not even realize anairbag inflated. Roof-rail airbags may still be at leastpartially inflated for some time after they deploy. Some components of the airbag module may be hot forseveral minutes. For location of the airbag modules, see What Makes an Airbag Inflate? on page 1-85.The parts of the airbag that come into contact with youmay be warm, but not too hot to touch. There maybe some smoke and dust coming from the vents in thedeflated airbags. Airbag inflation does not preventthe driver from seeing out of the windshield or beingable to steer the vehicle, nor does it prevent people fromleaving the vehicle.{ CAUTION:When an airbag inflates, there may be dust in theair. This dust could cause breathing problems forpeople with a history of asthma or other breathingtrouble.
