162The four-digit file number is like the framenumber on a roll of film. The captured imagesare assigned a sequential file number from0001 to 9999 and saved in one folder. You canchange how the file number is assigned.1 Select [File numbering].Under the [51] tab, select [Filenumbering], then press <0>.2 Select the file numbering method.Turn the <5> dial to select thedesired setting, then press <0>.Continues the file numbering sequence even after the card isreplaced or a new folder is created.Even after you replace the card, create a folder, or switch the targetcard (such as f → g), the file numbering continues in sequence upto 9999 for the images saved. This is convenient when you want to saveimages numbered anywhere between 0001 to 9999 in multiple cards orfolders into one folder in your personal computer. If the replacement card or existing folder already contains imagesrecorded previously, the file numbering of the new images may continuefrom the file numbering of the existing images in the card or folder. Ifyou want to use continuous file numbering, you should use a newly-formatted card each time.3 File Numbering Methods(Ex.)
