243The time code is a time referencerecorded automatically to synchronizethe video and audio during movieshooting. It is recorded at all times in thefollowing units: hours, minutes, seconds,and frames. It is mainly used duringmovie editing.Set the time code with [z5: Time code].[Rec run] : The time code counts up only while you are shootinga movie.[Free run] : The time code counts up whether you are shooting ornot.You can set the time code’s start time.[Manual input setting] : You can freely set the hour, minute, second,and frame.[Reset] : The time set with [Manual input setting] and[Set to camera time] is reset to 00:00:00:00.[Set to camera time] : Sets hours, minutes, and seconds to matchthe camera’s internal clock. “Frames” will beset to 00.You can select what to display on the movie-shooting screen.[Rec time] : Indicates the elapsed time from the start of the movieshooting.[Time code] : Indicates the time code during movie shooting.3 Setting the Time CodeCount UpStart Time SettingMovie Recording CountShooting still photos during movie shooting will cause a discrepancybetween the actual time and time code.If [Free run] is set and you change the time, zone, or daylight savingtime (p.40), the time code will be affected.COPY
