C-8 Country-specific Features Appendix CSetting the FAX for Network SwitchFollow this procedure to set the receive mode to NET SWITCH:1 Open the one-touch speed dial panel.2 Press Data Registration.3 Press Set.4 Use ∂ or ¨ to select RX SETTINGS.5 Press Set.6 Use ∂ or ¨ to select RX MODE.7 Press Set. Ex:8 Use ∂ or ¨ to select NET SWITCH.9 Press Set.10 Press Stop to return to standby mode. Ex:nWhen the RX MODE setting is set to NET SWITCH, no other receive mode can beselected with the Receive Mode button.Network Switch System OperationThe procedure for using the network switch system is almost the same as when usingthe FAX over a normal telephone line. When you receive calls, however, the unit willrespond slightly differently as described below:When you hear the telephone call ring pattern:Pick up the handset and talk normally. If you hear a slow beep, it means the call is froma fax machine trying to send a fax. Press Start/Copy to receive the fax. If you do notpick up the handset, the unit continues to ring until the other party hangs up.
