2-32 Setting Up Your LASER CLASS 2060P Chapter 2The Toner CartridgeHandling and Storing Cartridges❏ Do not expose the cartridge to direct sunlight or bright light forlonger than five minutes.❏ Do not open the drum protective shutter on the cartridge. If thedrum surface is exposed to light and damaged, print qualitymay deteriorate.❏ Do not stand the cartridge on end, and do not turn it upsidedown. If toner becomes caked in the cartridge, it may proveimpossible to free it even by shaking the cartridge.❏ Keep the cartridge away from computer screens, disk drives,and floppy disks. The magnet inside the cartridge may harmthese items.❏ Never touch the drum protective shutter. When holding thecartridge avoid touching the drum protective shutter with yourhands.❏ Do not store the cartridge in direct sunlight.❏ Avoid locations subject to high temperature, high humidity, orrapid changes in temperature. Store the cartridge between 32ºand 95º F (0º and 35º C).❏ Hold the cartridge as shown so that your hand is not touchingthe drum’s protective shutter.HDD
