112 Using a Memory CardERecording Still Images on a Memory CardYou can record still images with thecamcorder, from a tape in the camcorder( 114) or from devices connected via theDV terminal or AV terminal ( 115).❍ Do not turn off the camcorder, disconnect the power source, open the memorycard cover or remove the memory card while the card access indicator isflashing. Doing so could result in data damage.❍ When you are using a SD Memory Card, make sure that the protect switch isset to allow recording.❍ Make sure to insert a memory card with enough remaining capacity.❍ The camcorder shuts off when you do not operate it for 5 minutes to savepower. “ AUTO POWER OFF” appears 20 seconds before shutoff. Tocontinue recording, turn the POWER switch to OFF and then back to CAMERA.❍ We recommend saving the still images and movies on the memory card to acomputer regularly.Recording with the Camcorder1. Set the camcorder to CARD CAMERA mode.A white focusing frame appears in the centre of the screen. The camcorder will focus onthe subject in the centre of the screen. To change the focusing point, see Selecting theFocusing Point ( 116).2. Press the PHOTO button halfway.• F and focusing frame turn green when focus is adjusted. Thebeep sounds twice.
