140 Using a Memory CardEMemory Card InformationImages recorded on a memory card with this camcorder can be transferred to acomputer using the following products for SD Memory Cards or MultiMediaCards:PC Card Adapter: An adapter to insert a memory card into the card slot on thecomputer.USB Reader/Writer: Connects to the USB port of a computer for direct access to thememory card.Memory Card Handling Precautions❍ Format new memory cards with the camcorder. Memory cards formatted with otherdevices such as a computer may not operate correctly.❍ We recommend saving backups of memory card images on your computer’s hard driveor other external memory device. Image data may be corrupted or lost due to memorycard defects or exposure to static electricity. Canon Inc. makes no warranties forcorrupted or lost data.❍ Do not turn off the camcorder, disconnect the power source, open the memory cardcover or remove the memory card while the card access indicator is flashing.❍ Do not use memory cards in places subject to strong magnetic fields.❍ Do not leave memory cards in places subject to high humidity and high temperature.❍ Do not disassemble memory cards.❍ Do not bend, drop, or subject memory cards to shocks and do not expose them towater.❍ Moving a memory card rapidly between hot and cold temperatures may causecondensation to form on its external and internal surfaces.
