The difference inair pressure between the two tubes pulls the sampled airthrough the sensing chamber. When a sufficient amount ofsmoke is detected in the sensing chamber, the sensorsignals an alarm state and the controller automaticallytakes the appropriate action to shut down fans andblowers, change over air handling systems, notify the firealarm control panel, etc.The sensor uses a process called differential sensing toprevent gradual environmental changes from triggeringfalse alarms.
