16SELECTING INSTALLATION LOCATION FOR OUTDOOR UNIT (Cont.)CONSIDERATIONS FOR SELECTING INSTALLATION LOCATION (Cont.)Avoid dripping intopassageways.Avoid soiling of pipeendsAvoid allowingpiping to get wetbefore connectionAvoid disconnectingthe refrigerantconnections afterinstallation, this willcause refrigerantleaksAvoid connecting the condensate drain lineto the outdoor unit.a. Weight of Outdoor UnitThe installation location of outdoor unit should be able to support operating weight of outdoorunit, and not cause vibration.b. Effect of Direct SunlightThe installation location of outdoor unit is preferable to be far away from the direct sunlight.c. Effect of heat sources, steam or flammable gasThe installation location of outdoor unit should be far away from heat sources, steam orflammable gas.d. Cleanness of locationThe installation location of outdoor unit should be free of dust or any material, which cancause clogging of condenser coil. When installing unit on the ground, select a location notsubjected to flooding. When the installation is made on the rooftop or other places subject to strong wind :When the outdoor unit is to be installed on the rooftop or at the places where there are no otherbuildings around. it is required to avoid the strong wind from blowing directly into the air outlet of theoutdoor unit so as to prevent the negative impacts on cooling or heating performances due toinsufficient airflow of the outdoor unit heat exchanger and to prevent from faulty performances. When there are walls in the vicinity, the air outletshould face the wall and keep a space of 500mmfrom the wall. When the air outlet is affected by the strong wind, the installation position should be changed so asto make the air outlet at a straight angle from thewind direction.
