Smoke detectors may be specified for supplyair only, for return air without or with economizer, or in combi-nation of supply air and return air. All components necessaryfor operation are factory-provided and mounted. The unit isfactory-configured for immediate smoke detector shutdownoperation; additional wiring or modifications to unit terminalboard may be necessary to complete the unit and smoke detec-tor configuration to meet project requirements.Units equipped with factory-optional return air smoke detec-tors require a relocation of the sensor module at unit installa-tion. See Fig. 48 for the as-shipped location.COMPLETING INSTALLATION OF RETURN AIRSMOKE SENSOR1. Unscrew the two screws holding the Return Air SmokeDetector assembly. See Fig. 49, Step 1. Save the screws.2. Turn the assembly 90 degrees and then rotate end to end.Make sure that the elbow fitting is pointing down. SeeFig. 49, Step 2.3.
