3 x Start-upDAIKIN EKHHP(3/5)00AA2V3DAIKIN Hot water heat pump008.1423444_02 – 09/2015Installation and maintenance manual153 Start-up3.1 Start-up3.1.1 Requirements:– The DAIKIN EKHHP system is set up and com-pletely connected.– The coolant system is dehumidified and filledwith the specified amount of coolant.– The hot water distribution network is bled andhas the correct pressure applied (seesection 2.7).– The storage tank is filled up to the overflow (seechapter 7.2).– Optional accessories have been mounted onand connected up.After the DAIKIN EKHHP was installed and con-nected completely, it will need to be undergo aone-time adaptation to the installation envi-ronment to be carried out by technical personnel(configuration of optional accessories, setting theparameters).After this configuration is complete, the installationis ready for operation and the operator can makeadditional custom configurations on it.The heating expert must instruct the user, gen-erate the commissioning report and fill it in.WARNING!An improperly commissioned DAIKINEKHHP can endanger the lives andhealth of persons and its function can beimpaired. The initial commissioning of theDAIKIN Hot water heat pump should onlybe carried out by authorised and trainedheating experts.CAUTION!A DAIKIN EKHHP not put into operationproperly can lead to damage to propertyand the environment.● Observe the applicable rules oftechnology to prevent corrosionproducts and deposits. Minimumrequirement of the quality of the fillingand top-up water:– Water hardness (calcium and mag-nesium, calculated as calcium car-bonate): ≤ 3 mmol/l– Conductivity: 1500 (ideal: < 100)μS/cm– Chloride: ≤ 250 mg/l– Sulphate: ≤ 250 mg/l– pH value: 6.5 - 8.5.● If the above-mentioned minimum waterquality requirements set by the localwater supply company cannot beguaranteed, suitable water treatmentmeasures must be taken.● The domestic water quality mustcomply with the EU Guideline98/83 EC and the regionally-applicableregulations.CAUTION!If the DAIKIN EKHHP is started when thestorage tank is not completely full, areduction in output may arise whenheating or destruction of the integratedBooster Heaters (BOH) may occur andmay cause an electrical fault.● DAIKIN EKHHP only to be operatedwith full storage tank.
