6.3 Programming the Drive6.3.1 Parameter OverviewParameters contain various settings that are used to configure and operate the drive and motor. These parameter settings areprogrammed into the local control panel (LCP) through the different LCP menus. For more detail on parameters, see the programmingguide.Parameter settings are assigned a default value at the factory, but can be configured for their unique application. Each parameter has aname and number that remain the same regardless of the programming mode.In the Main Menu mode, the parameters are divided into groups. The 1st digit of the parameter number (from the left) indicates theparameter group number. The parameter group is then broken down into subgroups, if necessary. For example:Table 15: Example of Parameter Group HierarchyExample Description0–** Operation/Display Parameter group0–0* Basic Settings Parameter subgroupParameter 0-01 Language ParameterParameter 0-02 Motor Speed Unit ParameterParameter 0-03 Regional Settings Parameter6.3.2 Parameter NavigationUse the following LCP keys to navigate through the parameters.• Press [▲] [▼] to scroll up or down.• Press [◄] [►] to shift a space to the left or right of a decimal point while editing a decimal parameter value.• Press [OK] to accept the change.• Press [Cancel] to disregard the change and exit edit mode.• Press [Back] twice to show the status view.• Press [Main Menu] once to go back to the main menu.6.3.3 Entering System InformationContext:The following steps are used to enter basic system information into the drive. Recommended parameter settings are intended for start-up and checkout purposes. Application settings vary.Although these steps assume that an induction motor is used, a permanent magnet motor can also be used. For more information onspecific motor types, see the product-specific programming guide.Starting the DriveOperating Guide | VLT® AutomationDrive FC 302AQ275652476278en-000101 / 130R070968 | Danfoss A/S © 2019.12
