Running the Dell Diagnostics 4-9How you change a value for the limits of a test group orsubtest depends on the type of parameter associated withit. Different keys are used to change values for differenttypes of parameters. For example, memory address limitsspecified for the RAM test group are changed by typingin numbers over the digits of a given limit or by pressingthe plus (+) or minus (–) key to increase or decrease thegiven limit. In contrast, to set limits for the Serial Portstest group, use the to toggle between Yes andNo.After you are satisfied with the limits, return to the mainscreen of the diagnostics by pressing the key. Thevalues you selected under Test Limits remain in effectuntil you change them or exit the diagnostics. The valuesare reset to their defaults when you restart thediagnostics.Press to select the next menu for the testlimits in a category.AboutAbout in the Main menu displays information about thehighlighted test group, such as limits and parameters andhow to set them.Key-HelpKey-Help displays a list of key controls available for theselected option.QuitSelect Quit from the Main menu to exit the diagnosticsand return to an MS-DOS prompt. Remove your diagnos-tics diskette from drive A, and reboot the computer bypressing .Tests in the Dell DiagnosticsThe diagnostics is organized by components into testgroups and subtests within each test group.
