Using Your Tablet-PC With a Projector 97Considerations for Display Resolution and Aspect Ratio in Clone ModeIf the projector has a lower display resolution and aspect ratio than theTablet-PC display, then the Tablet-PC graphics subsystem uses the lowestdisplay resolution and aspect ratio. Changing to a lower display resolution andaspect ratio alters the image quality. For example, if the Tablet-PC has a display resolution of 1280 x 800 pixelswith a 16:10 aspect ratio and the projector is using a 1024 x 768 displayresolution with a 4:3 aspect ratio, then you may notice that:• The projected image is not as sharp as it would be with a 1280 x 800display resolution. The loss of sharpness is particularly noticeable whenreading text.• Round objects appear flattened. This alteration is a result of shifting fromthe 16:10 to the 4:3 aspect ratio.Extended Desktop ModeExtended desktop mode enables you to configure two displays that each havetheir own attributes. You can use the Tablet-PC display in tablet mode withportrait orientation using a 1280 x 800 resolution, and the projector can usethe standard landscape orientation at a lower resolution and aspect ratio. When using extended desktop mode, you start applications on the Tablet -PCand then "drag" the applications that you want to be viewed from theprojector to the extended desktop. Extended desktop mode is useful whenyou want to maintain user activity on the Tablet-PC without displaying thisactivity with the projector.NOTE: When you initially connect the Tablet-PC to a projector, the Windowsoperating system asks you to specify default display settings. To enable extendeddesktop mode, select Show different parts of my desktop on each display(extended). To send the Tablet-PC display image to the projector, use the key combination. You can then "drag" the applications you want to project from theTablet-PC to the extended desktop (the projector). You can change the defaultdisplay settings at a later time.Changing the Display Settings for the ProjectorTo change the default display settings:1 Open the ATI CATALYST ® Control Center:
