82 Installing System ComponentsInstalling the Cooling ShroudTo install the cooling shroud, align the rails on the right side of the shroud with the tracks on the rightchassis wall and then slowly lower the shroud straight down into the system until the fan connectorengages and the latches snap into place. See Figure 3-19.NOTICE: Never operate your system with the memory cooling shroud removed. Overheating of the system candevelop quickly resulting in a shutdown of the system and the loss of data.Fan BracketsRemoving the Center Fan BracketCAUTION: Many repairs may only be done by a certified service technician. You should only performtroubleshooting and simple repairs as authorized in your product documentation, or as directed by the online ortelephone service and support team. Read and follow the safety instructions that came with the product.1 Turn off the system, including any attached peripherals, and disconnect the system from the electricaloutlet.2 Open the system. See "Opening the System" on page 48.3 If applicable, disconnect the cables from the SAS RAID controller daughter card or expansion card onthe expansion-bay bracket and pull the cables out of the way of the center fans. See "Removing theSAS RAID Controller Daughter Card" on page 96.4 Remove the fans from the center fan bracket. See "Removing and Installing a Fan" on page 53.5 To release the fan bracket, use your index fingers and push inward on the blue latches on each endof the center fan bracket. Then slide the bracket straight up and out of the system. See Figure 3-19.If the bracket does not disengage completely, push down slightly on the bracket when releasing thelatches.Replacing the Center Fan Bracket1 Align the rails on each end of the fan bracket with the guide rails on the chassis walls and lower thebracket down into the system until the latches engage.2 Replace the fans into the fan bracket. See "Removing and Installing a Fan" on page 53.3 If applicable, reconnect the cables to the SAS RAID controller daughter card or expansion card.
