Verify the UPS system is turned off and all power sources are removed. See Chapter 6, “UPS OperatingInstructions,“ for shutdown instructions.2. Installing Parallel system, see Figure 4-15.3. To locate the appropriate terminals and review the wiring and termination requirements, seeparagraph 3.2.3, Table 4-2, Figure 4-9, Figure 4-10, and Figure 4-13.Figure 4-13. Route the wiring to the terminal block:Conduit and wiring enter from the centre of the conduit landing plate.NOTEa. Remove the small parts from the knockout in the right side plate.b. Route the wiring (see Figure 4-12) to the wiring access (see Figure 4-12). Secure the wiring to the fourmounting clips provided using Zip ties.c. Reinstall the wires to cover using the retained hardware.d. Install the power terminal cover up and down sides using the provided hardware.Pull ChainCAUTION• Parallel system combined input and output wiring length should be in accordance with thefollowing rule. It should be designed to ensure that wiring impedance from point of supply toload connection for each UPS module in a multi-module system is equal, or within a tolerance ofapproximately ±10%. This is to ensure approximately equal current sharing when in staticbypass mode.Total length of 1A + 1B = Total length of 2A + 2B= Total length of 3A + 3B= Total length of 4A + 4B• If installing only two UPS modules (redundant), this requirement is no longer required as eachUPS is capable of supporting the full bypass requirement. However, this would preclude futureexpansion.• Ensure that each UPS static bypass is fed from a single common source, as is an externalbypass switch if installed. If each UPS is fed with a separate rectifier source, please consultEaton for advice on compatibility.
