3. Installation InstructionsThis section of this guide explains in detail how the panelshould be installed and configured to function properly.Please ensure you have fully understood the componentsof the system and how they operate before proceeding withthis section. Take notice of the warnings and cautions asthey are to prevent damage to your equipment.3.1 Before you beginENSURE ANTI-STATIC PRECAUTIONS ARE TAKEN WHENHANDLING ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS OF THE SYSTEM.DO NOT USE EXCESSIVE FORCE WHEN TIGHTENING THETERMINAL BLOCKS.WHEN INSTALLED THIS EQUIPMENT IS SUBJECT TOTHE EMC DIRECTIVE 2004/108/EC. TO MAINTAIN EMCCOMPLIANCE THE FIRE ALARM SYSTEM MUST BEINSTALLED AS INSTRUCTED. THE INSTALLER WILL BERESPONSIBLE FOR ANY EMC PROBLEMS THAT MAYOCCUR EITHER TO THE FIRE ALARM SYSTEM OR TO ANYOTHER EQUIPMENT AFFECTED BY THE INSTALLATION IFTHERE IS ANY DEVIATION FROM THIS GUIDE.INSTALLATION & MAINTENANCE MUST BE PERFORMEDBY AN APPROPRIATELY QUALIFIED PERSON. THEEQUIPMENT CARRIES NO WARRANTY UNLESS THESYSTEM HAS BEEN INSTALLED AND COMMISSIONEDAND SUBSEQUENTLY MAINTAINED BY APPROPRIATELYQUALIFIED PERSONS OR ORGANISATIONS. DO NOTATTEMPT TO INSTALL THIS EQUIPMENT UNTIL YOUHAVE FULLY READ AND UNDERSTOOD THE OPERATIONAS DESCRIBED WITHIN THIS MANUAL, FAILURE TO DOSO MAY RESULT IN DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT ANDCOULD INVALIDATE YOUR WARRANTY.WHEN INSTALLING THE BIWIRE FLEXI FIRE SYSTEMCARE SHOULD BE TAKEN TO ENSURE THAT THEINSTALLATION LOCATION DOES NOT SUBJECT THE PANELTO ENVIRONMENTAL FACTOR IN EXCESS OF THE LIMITSOUTLINED IN THE TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION CONTAINEDWITHIN THIS GUIDE.3.2 Cabling Routing & Device InstallationRoute the fire rated cabling (for example FP200) betweendevice locations in accordance with the zone map (and anyother external equipment) and back to the panel location asindicated in the system design drawings. Each cable shouldbe clearly labelled with their function, i.e. Zone 1 etc.The bases of all fire devices should be fixed (refer to theinstallation guide supplied with each device) in the locationsspecified in the system design drawings.The cabling to devices should be screwed into the terminalsof the base or device (refer to the installation guide suppliedwith each device).
