The BiWire Flexi Fire Detection & Alarm System2.3 EOLM-3Each Zone on the panel that is configured for BiWire modemust have the intelligent end of line module (EOLM-3™)fitted to continually monitor each zone for the presenceof fault conditions such as detector head removal, open orshort circuit and for end of line failures even when in a Firecondition. For new installations, any Zone on the panel that is configuredfor Conventional mode can use the intelligent end of linemodule (EOLM-3™) to terminate the zone but the panel willbe limited to only detecting the presence of open or shortcircuit conditions to make it backward compatible with theEOLM-1. All detector head removals will be seen as an opencircuit condition. The EOLM-3™ module can be placed into the base of thelast manual call point or detector base.2.4 EOLM-1Each Zone on the panel that is configured for StandardConventional mode must have the intelligent end of linemodule (EOLM-1™) fitted to continually monitor each zonefor the presence of fault conditions such as detector headremoval, open or short circuit and for end of line failureseven when in a Fire condition. The EOLM-1™ module can be placed into the base of thelast manual call point or detector base.RISK OF DAMAGE TO EOLM-3 IF CORRECT WIRINGPOLARITY IS NOT OBSERVED2.5 EOLREach Zone on the panel that is configured for IntrinsicallySafe Conventional mode must separate the intrinsically safedevices from the panel using the intrinsically safe barrierMTL5561. The last device on the zone must be terminatedwith a 5K1 End of Line Resistor to ensure proper fault andfire monitoring of the zone.Any Sounder Circuit on the panel that is being used forIntrinsically Safe Sounders must separate the intrinsicallysafe alarm devices from the panel using the intrinsically SafeBarrier MTL7778ac. The last alarm device on the sounderoutput must be terminated with a 6K8 End of Line Resistorto ensure proper fault monitoring of the circuit.CAUTIONFigure 3: BiWire Flexi EOLM-3 ModuleFigure 4: BiWire Flexi EOLM-1 Modulewww.acornfiresecurity.comwww.acornfiresecurity.com
