Exercise care in handling cells/batteries in order to prevent shorting of thecell with conductive materials such as rings, bracelets and keys. The cellor conductor may overheat and cause burns.2. Do not dispose of the cell/battery in open flame; cells may burst.3. Do not open or mutilate cell/battery. Opened cells may release corrosiveelectrolytes which may have harmful effects on the skin and eyes and maybe toxic if ingested.EXIT SIGN LAMP REPLACEMENTFor units with optional EXIT signs (suffix -EXS or -EXD)1. Remove the three (3) screws holding the EXIT sign to the equipment housing.Carefully remove the EXIT sign by sliding down and away from the light fixtureassembly.2. Loosen the screw that secures the locking tab. Lift tab and retighten screw tohold locking tab temporarily out of the way.3. Unscrew globe assembly from equipment housing.4. Remove lamp.5. Perform cleaning and inspection as necessary.6. Screw new lamp into lampholder and securely tighten lamp. New lamp mustbe identical type, size and wattage as marked on the nameplate luminaire.7. Slide locking tab into position so it engages one of the slots on the globeassembly. Tighten screw to secure locking tab.8. Carefully slide EXIT sign back over globe assembly. Attach with three (3)screws removed in Step 1.LAMP REPLACEMENTFigure 6! CAUTIONTo avoid shattering the lamp, protect lamp against scratches and abrasions.Wear protective eyeglasses and clothing when handling lamp. Always allowlamp to cool before removing. Dispose of lamp properly.1. Turn OFF supply power to the ELPSM2 Light-Pak and turn OFF the batterydisconnect switch [S794 or S854] located next to the push-to-test button.2. Loosen lens ring locking screw but do not remove. See Figure 6.3. Remove lens by turning counterclockwise until all threads are disengaged.4. Pull lamp straight out of socket and discard.5. Install replacement lamp by inserting the lamp’s 2-pin G4 base into the lampsocket. Lamp replacement options are as follows:• Lamp model: LEDtronics LEDG4BPF-1.5W-XIW-012V, G4 2-pin base,3000K, 1.5W• Lamp model: Westinghouse 33184, G4 2-pin base, 3000K, 1.5W6. Install lens ring by turning clockwise until threads are fully engaged.All screw threads have been treated with a corrosion-resistant lubricant.Whenever disturbing threaded joints, re-lubricate the threads with Crouse-Hindsseries STL thread lubricant.7. Tighten locking screw.8. Turn ON supply power to the ELPSM2 Light-Pak and turn ON the batterydisconnect switch [S794 or S854] located next to the push-to-test button.9. Test lamp following Step 21 of “D. Complete installation.”! CAUTIONTo avoid damaging threads during installation, exercise care to prevent grit,dirt or other foreign material from lodging on threads. If such foreign materialdoes settle on these threads, clean them appropriately, then re-lubricate withSTL thread lubricant.*To avoid potential explosion, oxidation and corrosion, do not use gasoline orsimilar solvents.! WARNINGTo maintain explosionproof integrity, make sure all threads are fully engaged.Locking screwPILOT LIGHT LAMP REPLACEMENT1. Turn OFF supply power to the ELPSM2 Light-Pak and turn OFF the batterydisconnect switch [S794 or S854] located next to the push-to-test button.2. Unscrew jewel assembly from pilot light.3. Push lamp in, twist counterclockwise, then remove lamp and discard.4. Install replacement pilot light lamp.Pilot light: MB444WCU2-2VF/NR-DP, 2V LED with miniature bayonetbase*5.
