If the battery is okay and the screen shows an amber backlightand a flashing question mark (?), this means that the sensor isout of range.When your Home Key is not docked, the screen will go to sleepafter a few seconds of inactivity. However, the screen willblink green every time it gets an update (the default is onceper minute) to let you know the system is continuing to monitoryour home. If the status of a sensor changes while the HomeKey is asleep, the screen will blink red (within a minute) to letyou know of the change.
