M-Max Series adjustable frequency drive18 For more information visit: www.eaton.com MN04020002EFebruary 2010Table 5: List of Fault Messages (F) and Warning Messages (AL)Display Designation Possible Cause Instructions01 Overcurrent • The adjustable frequency drive hasdetected an excessive current (> 4 x IN)in the motor cable• Sudden load increase• Short circuit in motor cable• Inadequate motor• Check the load• Check the motor size• Check the cable( parameter P6.6)02 Overvoltage • The DC bus voltage has exceededthe internal safety limit• The delay time is too short• High overvoltage peaks in line powerIncrease braking time03 Ground fault • An additional leakage current wasdetected when starting by means ofa current measurement• Insulation fault in the cables or inthe motorCheck the motor cable andthe motor08 System fault • Component fault• MalfunctionReset the fault and restart.If the fault occurs again, pleasecontact your Eaton representativeor call 877-ETN-CARE (386-2273).09 Undervoltage The DC bus voltage is operating belowvoltage level.Probable cause:• The supply voltage is too low• Internal device fault• Power failure• If a brief power failure takesplace, reset the fault and restartthe adjustable frequency drive• Check the supply voltage. If it isOK, there is an internal fault.If this is the case, please contactyour Eaton representative orcall 877-ETN-CARE (386-2273).13 Under-temperatureThe IGBT switch temperature is below–10ºC.Check the ambient temperature14 Over-temperatureThe IGBT switch temperature is above120ºC. An excessive temperaturewarning is issued if the IGBT switchtemperature goes above 110ºC.• Make sure that there is anunobstructed flow ofcooling air• Check the ambient temperature• Make sure that the switchingfrequency is not too high inrelation to the ambienttemperature and to themotor load15 Stall protection The motor blocking protectionmechanism has been triggered.Check the motor16 Motor over-temperatureThe adjustable frequency drive’s motortemperature model has detected motoroverheating.
