OPERATING FAULT ON THE RS232C SERIAL LINKIn the event the RS232C connection does not operate as described in this manual, pleasecheck the following points:Absence of a reaction of the device when sending commandsThe connection cord between the device of the SEFELEC series and the computermust be connected correctly at the two ends and be of uncrossed type. The SefelecCO179 cord is not compatible with the device.The devices in the SEFELEC series have several possible types of interfaces, checkin the configuration menu that the RS232 mode was selected on the INTERFACEline.The end of message character must be the LF character (hexadecimal: 0A, decimal:10). If this character is not sent, the device of the SEFELEC series does not processthe command received.Check that this character is indeed added to the characters of the command sent.The first command that must be sent is the REM command, the latter results in thedisplay of the icon of the links of a chain on the left hand side corner of the LCDscreen, the device is then ready to process the other commands.Warning: the first REM command must not wait for the Xon character before it issent.The device switches to REMOTE then seems to be blockedBefore sending another command, it is imperative to wait for the device in the SE-FELEC series to report that it is available by the sending of the Xon character. If acode arrives during the processing of the preceding code, it can cause incoherentoperation of the device or block it.
